In the past, I was a member of a SACCO where I would save regularly. The SACCO had about 70 people and every month, we would save between UGX 3.5m and UGX 4m. We used to share out every after six months and then resume saving. However, one time just before sharing, our treasurer disappeared with all our money. After being cheated I was happy when I heard that UGAFODE had a branch in the settlement and I could open up an account with the institution. I convinced some of the members of our former SACCO and we went and opened up individual savings accounts. This was a better alternative to a SACCO, our money is safe and I can access it any time I want. I have no fear of making a loss or losing money.
