Hi, I am Florence Mutonerwa
Head Product Development, Research and MarketingFlorence Mutonerwa is a seasoned Ugandan banker with over 15 years of progressive experience in the financial services sector. She currently serves as the Head of Product Development, Research, and Marketing at UGAFODE Microfinance Ltd (MDI)—the first regulated financial institution in Uganda to offer tailored financial services to refugees.
Florence has played a transformative role in UGAFODE’s growth by fostering innovation, building strong stakeholder relationships, and championing staff development to cultivate a customer-focused and performance-driven culture. Her leadership has been instrumental in increasing client acquisition and retention, enhancing brand visibility, and optimizing operational efficiency.
A firm believer in integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement, Florence is known for her business acumen, strategic thinking, and commitment to excellence. Her approach blends accountability and agility with a keen understanding of the financial landscape, enabling her to identify and pursue emerging opportunities with precision.
Before joining UGAFODE, Florence held key management positions in several leading financial institutions, including FINCA Uganda, Ecobank Uganda, Equity Bank Ltd, and Finance Trust Bank. Her diverse experience across these institutions has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of banking operations, customer engagement, and sustainable business growth.
Florence is an alumna of Uganda Management Institute (UMI) and Makerere University Kampala (MUK), and attended various leadership trainings where she cultivated a strong foundation in business and financial management.
