He came to Uganda from Burundi in 2015. He started by doing salon/ hairdressing work. He then saved up some money and started a stall on which he sold commonly demanded items such as onions, tomatoes, silver fish and charcoal. After four years on the stall, he started to gradually expand into a general merchandise shop. In 2020, he got a working capital loan of sh4m from UGAFODE, which enabled him to set up the shop. He paid the loan in one year and thereafter, he borrowed UGX5m. His plan was to keep on getting funds to expand his business. He is happy with UGAFODE’s services. The turn around time is fast for processing loans and also for withdrawing savings that one deposited.
